Founded in 1936 in Bismarck, North Dakota, Capitol Employees Credit Union (now Capital Credit Union) began with 20 federal and state employees. Over the years, it achieved milestones such as joining CUNA, reaching $1 million in assets in 1964, and expanding services. In 1967, it moved and officially changed its name. Subsequent years saw growth, mergers with other credit unions, and an expanded presence. Today, Capital Credit Union continues its legacy of service, having evolved from a small credit union to a thriving financial institution.
