Since October 22, 1833, Chemung Canal Trust Company has been offering uninterrupted and forward-thinking financial and credit services to our community. At the time of our establishment, Andrew Jackson was serving as the President of the United States, which then comprised only 24 states. It was an era where veterans of the American Revolution were still alive, and the City of Chicago was founded by a small group of settlers. Just two years prior, the first steam-propelled locomotive embarked on its inaugural journey from Albany to Schenectady. Stagecoach lines were flourishing, the Chemung Canal had recently opened, and the idea of the Erie Railroad was just beginning to take shape.
