For over a century, our bank’s story has unfolded in tandem with the stories of our customers and the broader region we proudly serve. From our inaugural deposit to the present day, our growth mirrors yours, and our success is deeply intertwined with your achievements.
The journey began with the issuance of the basic charter to “”The German Bank”” on January 20, 1870, marking the official commencement of operations on April 3, 1870. In 1887, the Dollar Savings Bank emerged in Wheeling, eventually merging with The German Bank. This union marked the first of many strategic alliances that have allowed us to evolve alongside the evolving needs of our valued customers.
Throughout the years, we have stood by the people of this region during industrial cycles, natural and crop disasters, and personal trials. The resilience and optimism of our community have been a constant source of inspiration. Our commitment to being a pillar of support during challenging times and a catalyst for progress has been unwavering—from the past to the present.
As we reflect on our rich history, we acknowledge that the spirit and determination of our customers have propelled us to be a better bank then, and it continues to drive us forward today. Together, we look toward a future of shared success and growth.
